The Ruskin Museum is an award-winning ‘Cabinet of Curiosities’ telling the Story of Coniston from the first Stone Age fell-walkers, who made and traded stone axes, to the Jet Era of 50s and 60s when speed ace Donald Campbell broke 4 World Water Speed Records in Bluebird K7 on Coniston Water.
Nestled under the beautiful backdrop of the Yewdale Fells, so loved by John Ruskin, and marking the start of the Coniston Coppermines Trail, the Museum is a great place to spend some time.

The Ruskin Museum is a totally independent Museum owned and managed by the people of the Parish of Coniston. It receives very little funding, relying heavily on visitor admissions, donations and volunteers to keep going. All donations are gratefully received and will help to conserve and care for all the collections housed within The Ruskin Museum.
