September is a big month for the Campbell Family.
September is the month of Donald’s first Water Speed Record on Coniston Water where he achieved a speed of 225.63 mph on 19 September 1956, coincidently 19th September is also Gina’s birthday.
Donald was also laid to rest in September, his funeral was on the 12th September 2001. To mark these dates we are hosting a “Day with Gina” on Saturday 25th September. Gina will be at The Ruskin Museum to give talks in The Bluebird Wing and sign memorabilia, she will also lay flowers at her father’s grave.
Afternoon Tea and Hog Roast sandwiches will be available to purchase throughout the day.
Come and meet Gina, wish her (a belated) Happy Birthday and pay your respects to Donald.
Doors open at 10am, the schedule will be as follows:
11am – Gina to lay flowers at her fathers grave
12pm – Talk in the Bluebird Wing
2pm – Talk in the Bluebird Wing
4pm – Talk in the Bluebird Wing.
Gina will be signing memorabilia and chatting throughout the day in between the scheduled talks.
